The Groundhog also known as a woodchuck is a rodent which eats during the day and is rarely far from it’s burrow entrance. Groundhogs are excellent burrowers, using burrows for protection, sleeping, rearing young, and hibernating. It is their proclivity for burrowing that makes them a nuisance and potentially hazardous for you, your family, horses, livestock, pets; any who stumble upon their burrow unawares. They can even cause damage to trucks and machinery.

Groundhogs hibernate during the winter, therefore they will spend the Spring and Summer eating and building up fat stores to survive the Winter. They will cause property damage by burrowing into fields, gardens, crops, landscaping; anywhere convienant to attain the food they need.
